Why have an engagement portrait?

The engagement portrait serves several purposes. First, it will get the bride and groom accustomed to working with their wedding photographer. This interaction will make the wedding day more comfortable and relaxed for both the couple and the photographer.  It will also allow the photographer to familiarize themselves with your personalities on film. 

Photos are generally casual, relaxed images that can be used as gifts to friends and family; or as a part of a display at the reception.  Many couples have chosen to use their engagement portrait with a signature matte. Signature mattes allow guest and loved ones to express their best wishes in writing and are later framed with the portrait.
